Bhubaneswar: In a reshuffle of senior police officers, the Odisha government Friday appointed Himansu Kumar Lal as IG of Economic Offences Wing and Special Task Force.
Lal was posted as the DIG of Northern Range, Sambalpur.
IPS officer Charan Singh Meena replaced Lal as DIG of Northern Range, according to a notification issued by the state Home Department.
Satyabrata Bhoi, Inspector General of the North Central Range, Talcher, has been transferred to the intelligence department.
Ashish Kumar Singh, who returned from central deputation, replaced Bhoi.
Singh was also entrusted with the additional charge as principal of the Police Training College, Angul.
The government appointed Nitin Shekhar as IGP (provisioning) at the police headquarters.
IG Intelligence Jai Narayan Pankaj has been posted to Southern Range, Berhampur, the notification said.
