Ranchi: The LJP (Ram Vilas) has appointed its lone Jharkhand MLA Janardan Paswan as president of the state unit, said a statement issued Wednesday.
Paswan represents the Chatra constituency in the Jharkhand assembly.
I thank the party’s national president Chirag Paswan for the new responsibility. For me, this is not merely a position, but a significant responsibility and a matter of trust reposed in me by the party, its workers, and the people, he said in a social media post.
Paswan said he would make every possible effort to strengthen the party in the state and raise the voice of the people.
Outgoing LJP (RV) state president Birendra Pradhan was appointed the national vice-president of the party.
Pradhan said he would work with commitment to expand the organisation and bring the new generation into the party fold.
The ideals of the late Ram Vilas Paswan have been my political inspiration. I will continue to work for strengthening the party under the leadership of national president Chirag Paswan, he said.
