Hatadihi/Kendujhar/Chhenapadi: A 16-year-old girl gave birth to a girl child at the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Kendujhar district, police said Sunday.
Nandipada police registered a case (331/2026) based on a report from doctors and launched an investigation.
The girl was initially admitted to the Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital August 28 after she fell ill.
She was later shifted to the Kendujhar DHH, where doctors confirmed that she delivered a baby girl.
Nandipada IIC Dharmendra Shanti said a medical report was received by police from the DHH Saturday night that a 16-year-old had delivered a child.
Police registered the case based on the report and launched an investigation. However, authorities did not disclose the identity of the minor or other details of the case.
