Bhubaneswar: Odisha government Tuesday approved 19 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 3,280 crore, which are expected to create employment opportunities for 10,661 people, officials said.
The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, approved the projects across sectors including textiles and apparel, technical textiles, food processing, steel downstream, global capability centres, biofuel, chemicals and chemical products, circular economy, plastics and tourism.
State-run Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) proposed to establish compressed biogas manufacturing facilities in eight districts — Baleshwar, Balangir, Baragada, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj and Sonepur — with an investment of Rs 960 crore, according to a statement.
Shri Dakshineshwari Maa Polyfabs Ltd proposed to establish a facility for manufacturing woven and non-woven fabrics and bags in Khordha with an investment of Rs 401.63 crore.
Another biofuel project worth Rs 170 crore and Tata Power’s global capability centre projects worth Rs 54.31 crore were also approved by the state panel.
The state government also approved five hotel projects with a total investment of Rs 767 crore, two food processing units worth Rs 220 crore, two apparel and textiles units worth Rs 184 crore and three steel projects worth Rs 350.81 crore, according to the statement.
Besides, proposals to establish two chemical and chemical product units worth Rs 122.64 crore and a circular economy project worth Rs 50.15 crore also received the state government’s approval, it said.
“We are encouraging investments that add value to local resources, build supply chains and create sustainable economic opportunities. Through continued facilitation and coordinated clearances, the state remains committed to helping investors move efficiently from proposal to implementation,” Garg said.
