Chhatrapur: Odisha Tourism Commissioner-cum-Secretary Balwant Singh Friday urged investors to explore opportunities in Ganjam district, highlighting its beaches, religious sites and cultural heritage. Addressing a tourism investors’ meet at Rushikulya Conference Hall, Singh said the district offered significant potential for tourism development and called for investment to strengthen infrastructure.
The meet highlighted opportunities at Gopalpur and Sunapur beaches, the Rushikulya river mouth, Rambha-Barakul in Chilika Lake, and the Maa Tara Tarini and Maa Bhairabi shrines. Potential areas for investment included beach resorts, hotels, homestays, ecotourism and adventure tourism.
Ganjam Collector V Keerthi Vasan urged investors to establish tourism projects, assuring them of administrative support in land identification, single-window clearances, policy assistance and infrastructure development under the public-private partnership model.
He said the district administration was committed to facilitating investment. Tourism Department Joint Secretary Binod Jena, Zilla Parishad Chief Development Officer Sameer Kumar Jena, Brahmapur Sub-Collector Abinash Kumar, Chhatrapur Sub-Collector Shibasish Baral and Bhanjanagar Sub-Collector Umashankar Behera attended the meeting.
