Purushottampur: Angry flood victims allegedly attacked Khallikote MLA Purnachandra Sethy during his visit to flood-hit areas of Purushottampur in Ganjam district Saturday. The incident occurred as residents, struggling with severe hardships following Cyclone Arnab, confronted him over the alleged lack of assistance and delayed response from elected representatives.
During the altercation, some people allegedly assaulted the MLA and pushed him to the ground. Police personnel reportedly failed to control the angry crowd initially. They later rescued Sethy and escorted him to his vehicle.
