Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has extended humanitarian assistance to people affected by Cyclone Arnab in Ganjam district by providing essential relief materials, including dry food, clothing and other necessities.
While the state government has been undertaking measures to provide immediate assistance to cyclone-affected people, BMC Mayor Sulochana Das and Commissioner Chanchal Rana decided to extend support on behalf of the civic body. Accordingly, a BMC team led by Mayor Das visited Ganjam district Monday, carrying relief materials for affected families.
The supplies, intended to benefit approximately 2,500 families comprising around 10,000 people, were formally handed over to the Ganjam district administration. Also, relief materials were distributed among affected people in different areas with the assistance of the local administration.
