A place where Holi is played with ash

Holi is a festival of colors which is celebrated worldwide.  There are various ways to celebrate this festival. Usually, Holi is played with colors.

However, there is a place in India where Holi is played with ash and not with colors. Actually, this is a tradition in Baba Kashi Vishwanath, in which Holi is played using Ash and red Gulal. Apart from this, city also witnesses a unique programme of music and dance.

On this day, people play Holi at Manicharnika Ghat irrespective of discrimination; people throw ash on each other with love.

It is believed that Baba Kashi Vishwanath had played Holi with Ganesha in his Mahashmashan. Citing this belief, Holi is played in Mahashmashashan every year.

Let us tell you, Manikarnika Ghat is called Mahashmashan. This is celebrated only in Kasi, just the next day of Ekadashi.
