Koraput:In an apparent case of filial ingratitude, an octogenarian couple sought the help of the police after they were “abandoned” by their children. The complaint by Sanu Hala and his wife Lachama came from Kusumguda village under Kotpad police limits.
Unable to walk properly, the 80-plus couple walked up to the local police station with much difficulty.
Sanu and Lachama were left in the lurch after their son humiliated them and asked them out of the house over some petty family issue. The police called the couple’s son for a discussion. No police complaint has been lodged and no one was arrested. The attempt, police said, was to settle matters amicably.
“Discussions with the son are under way. We are trying to know the details as to what has happened,” said Kotpad police station IIC Samarpita Swain.
