Active caseload of COVID-19 decreases to 12,399 in Odisha with recovery of 1,520 new patients

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha recorded a total of 1,520 new COVID-19 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, Government of Odisha said in a tweet Wednesday. All the recovered patients have been released from their respective treatment facilities. The total number of recoveries in Odisha went up to 2,82,073 with the discharge of those who have recovered. Earlier in the day, the state had reported 1,474 cases of new coronavirus infections. Hence the trend of recoveries exceeding the number of new infections continued.

There were three districts that registered more than 100 recoveries. The districts are Khurda (285), Mayurbhanj (113) and Cuttack (102).

The other districts from where new recoveries have been reported are Jagatsinghpur (94), Angul (89), Nuapada (70), Jharsuguda (68), Sundargarh (65), Bolangir (63), Kendrapara (53), Balasore (50), Jajpur (48), Bargarh (46), Puri (45), Ganjam (36), Keonjhar (30), Sambalpur (27), Bhadrak (26), Dhenkanal and Sonepur (25 each), Kalahandi and Koraput (24 each), Boudh (17), Nabarangpur and Nayagarh (16 each), Deograh (11), Rayagada (10), Kandhamal and Malkangiri (eight each) and Gajapati (five). The state pool also reported 21 new recoveries.

The active COVID-19 caseload in Odisha went down to 12,399 with the recovery of the new patients.  So far 2,95,889 persons have tested positive for the disease in the state.
