Cuttack: Oriya film actor Amlan Das was critically injured in a road mishap and admitted to a private hospital in the city here late Monday night.
Even though Das sustained head injuries, he was out of danger, claimed doctors treating him.
Amlan and his friends were returning from a film shooting in two vehicles. Amlan was in a Tata Safari (OD-09-B0010) when some pigs rushed towards the road near Thanagada. Amlan lost control over his vehicle and collided with an electric poll. His friends following in a Ford Fortuner (OD-02-AG-0055) hit his vehicle from behind. Both the vehicles fell off the bridge. The locals reached the spot and rushed him to a private hospital in the city here.
A case has been registered and a probe is on, said IIC Bimal Kumar Barik. The two vehicles were recovered from the accident spot, he added.
