Bhubaneswar, April 6: Aditya Satpathy and Rutuparna Choudhury won the boys’ and the girls’ titles respectively in the Puri Open AITA Talent Series U-16 Ranking Tennis Tournament, which concluded here Monday.
In the boys’ singles round, second seed Aditya shocked top seed Amrutjay Mohanty 7-5, 6-2 in the final to take the top honours. In girls, second seed Rutuparna stunned top seed Bhargavi Kalaga 6-4, 6-4 to clinch the title.
In the closing ceremony, Puri Club secretary Sunil Kumar Mohapatra was present as chief guest and distributed the prizes.
Tennis event
Puri Disstrict Tennis Association (PDTA) will organise the Orissa Tour Finals Masters tennis tournament at the Puri Club Tennis Complex April 7-12. Ansu Bhuyan has been given the top billing in the event, which carries a prize purse of `20, 000.
