Phiringia: The district administration met the kin of the gunned down polling supervisor of the polling checking team and Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) of Luisingh gram panchayat, Sanjukta Digal, Saturday. The Kandhamal district Collector, Brundha and Phiringia BDO, Prabin kumar Banua, held discussions with the bereaved relatives. The officials have assured the family members that compensation as per provisions of the government will be provided to the family.
Thursday, the ultras gunned down sector officer Sanjukta Digal when she got down from a vehicle to check a suspicious object lying on the road while passing through a jungle near Balandapada village under Gochhapada police station limits. Other four polling personnel present in the vehicle were unhurt.
