Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has joined social networking site Facebook and launched an official page titled ‘Naveen Odisha’.
He joined Facebook Tuesday and in his first update posted ‘Jai Jagannath’’ and a picture of the annual Rath Yatra festival of Puri. The page has above 46,500 likes so far.
Patnaik had joined Twitter in September last year.
A release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said Patnaik’s Facebook page will facilitate feedback from people and promote better delivery of services and governance.
It also said Patnaik’s office will be the first CMO to use live streaming facility as confirmed by Facebook.

Earlier, a Facebook account set up in the name of the Chief Minister was found to be a fake account.
A dedicated cell functioning at the CMO would upload on the account various developmental activities undertaken by Patnaik.
Chairman of Orissa Skill Development Authority Subroto Bagchi meanwhile has joined Twitter. His Twitter handle is @skilledinodisha.
