Keonjhar: Students of Government Women’s College in Keonjhar staged a dharna outside the college Wednesday, demanding to extend date for semester examination.
Police rushed to the spot and held talks with the agitating students.
Notably, the North Odisha University authorities had asked the college authorities to complete the pending semester examination of previous year. The varsity authorities announced December 26 as the date for the third semester. On the other hand, syllabus has changed but books are not available as yet, students alleged.
In view of this, students demanded to extend the date of the semester examination.
However, principal Sadashiba Moharana said that all courses have been completed. The university has decided to conduct examination on the fixed date while students have relented, he added. The agitating students later agreed to the authorities’ scheduled exam dates.
