Bhubaneswar, April 4: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) organised a live workshop Saturday where experts undertook nearly 10 complex surgeries that were transmitted live to students and audience here Saturday.
The workshop titled ‘Gynaecological Endoscopic Live Surgery’ was organised by AIIMS Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the endoscopy committee, Federation of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of India and the Bhubaneswar Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society. The theme of the workshop was chosen “minimal access, maximal benefit.”
“The live workshop was first-of-its-kind in the state. It will immensely benefit not only students but also faculty members of AIIMS and other doctors,” said Pravash Mishra, sub-dean AIIMS.
Experts undertook several complex surgeries in a span of seven hours.
The surgeries were undertaken at two operation theatres of AIIMS with live transmission to students at a mini auditorium complex here at AIIMS. The workshop was attended by 100 delegates from government and private medical colleges and hospitals.
