Khajuripada: Chief Minister (CM) Naveen Patnaik sanctioned a whopping Rs 1.40 crore on the spot for 30 rural projects of four gram panchayats in four districts under the BJD-led ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikash’ scheme Friday.
The four GPs are Baro in Kendrapara district, Sanatribida in Angul district, Kudaloi in Jharsuguda district and Gudari in Kandhamal district.
During his direct interaction with rural people that was launched March 5, the CM gave his nod to Rs 36 lakh for six projects at Gudari under Khajuripada block in Kandhamal district Friday.
During the video conferencing from the state secretariat with concerned GPs, he asked respective the panchayat sarpanchs to present the development schemes of the locality. Then, he accorded his seal of approval and sanctioned the requisite funds from the state coffers on the spot.
Among the development projects are a women SHG training centre worth Rs 10 lakh, a mandap worth Rs 3 lakh, youth community hall worth Rs 5 lakh, renewal of a pond worth Rs 8 lakh, a rest shed worth Rs 5 lakh and another community centre worth Rs 5 lakh in Gudari square, making it a total of Rs 36 lakh.
He directed the officials to finish the works within a stipulated timeframe. While people cheered and thanked the CM for his instant sanctioning of funds and the unique initiative for rural development, the CM sought people’s cooperation in the programme.
The conference was attended by Zilla Parishad chairperson Akankshya Pradhan, District Collector Brundha D and many others.
