Animals killed in fire mishap in Bhadrak district

Dhamnagar:  Four cattle and two cows perished in a fire mishap at the Deuladihi village of this block in Bhadrak district, late Thursday night. The incident happened when the cowshed of Baishav Jena caught fire.

As the animals were tied inside, they could not be brought out. Locals tried to douse the flames and go inside, but instead the fire raged. Baishav and his family members watch helplessly as the hapless animals were virtually roasted alive. Their agonizing shrieks made the atmosphere more painful.

On being informed, Fire station personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames. But by then it was too late. The damage had been done. The actual cause of the fire mishap is yet to be ascertained.
