Cuttack: Odia movie actor and Lok Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty has moved Orissa High Court after Cuttack Family Court last month rejected his divorce plea against his wife Varsha Priyadarshini, a source said Tuesday.
Following Mohanty’s petition, the high court had listed the matter for hearing today. A division bench of Justice Sibo Sankar Mishra and Justice Arindam Sinha heard the petition, the source added.
The court has also issued notice to Varsha and asked the family court to submit records related to the case. The next hearing of the case will be conducted November 9.

Notably, the Cuttack Family Court had rejected Mohanty’s divorce petition against his actress wife September 22, 2023.
It can be mentioned here that Mohanty had initially filed the divorce petition before a court in Delhi in July 2020 citing non-consummation of marriage. Later, the matter was transferred to the family court in Cuttack following the direction of the Supreme Court in March 2021.
Earlier this month, in a video, Anubhav had requested Varsha to accept the divorce.
