Bhubaneswar: The budget session of the state assembly, which was supposed to continue till April 4, came to an abrupt end Tuesday. As no major business transaction was left to be carried out after passing of the appropriation bill by voice vote, the house was adjourned for an uncertain period, sources said. Earlier, the state government had introduced two bills –Orissa Value Added Tax (amendment) bill, 2015 and Orissa Police Bill 2015 — in the first phase of this session. Passage of the appropriation bill authorised the government to spend around Rs 85,904 crore during 2015-16 fiscal. PNN
