Rourkela: Superintendent of Police (SP), Rourkela Mitrabhanu Mahapatra Saturday said that as per AIIMS Bhubaneswar report, the death of woman assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Alisa Narmi Lugun was caused due to ‘excited delirium’.
Section 302 will now be removed from the chargesheet, he informed.
Mahapatra stated that they had sent the post-mortem report to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for further analysis. As per the report issued by AIIMS, ASI Lugun died due to excited delirium, which happens when a person becomes excessively excited. The person experienced an adrenaline rush and subsequent problems in breathing, he added.
“The doctor has clearly stated that there has been no attack on her and there is no injury to her body,” the SP said.

Mahapatra stated that they will arrive at a conclusion soon. He mentioned that based on to the allegations of the victim’s family, they had lodged a murder case.
“But now after the post-mortem report, we will take the investigation accordingly,” the SP added.
It can be mentioned here that, Alisa — posted at Udit Nagar Police Station — had gone to an accident spot in the evening hours of October 1. Later, as she felt uneasy, she was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead.
