Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be the chief guest at the inaugural function of the Asia Steel International Conference here Tuesday.
The event at Hotel Mayfair is scheduled to close February 9. The last Asia Steel conference was held at Yokohama, Japan in 2015.
The conference, organised by the Indian Institute of Metals & Tata Steel, is co-organised by the Chinese Society for Metals, Korean Institute of Metals and Materials and Iron and Steel Institute of Japan.
The international event, which is held every three years, is meant to be a platform for exchanging knowledge on various aspects of the steel industry around the world.
Around 70 keynote speakers from China, Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, the UK, the US, Germany, Belgium and Canada are expected to address it.
The conference will also organise a technical exhibition in which various organisations and firms get an opportunity to display their state-of-the-art products and technologies to the largest gathering of steel manufactures, researchers & academicians, according to info from the event’s website.
