Assam man falls ill on train, dies near Baleshwar station

Baleshwar: A 39-year-old man from Assam died after falling ill while travelling on the Vivek Express and being taken off the train at Baleshwar railway station Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Arup Biswas, a resident of Assam. He was returning home from Chennai when he suddenly fell ill during the journey. According to his acquaintance Ajay Kanwar, who was travelling with him, Biswas suddenly became unwell while the train was on its way to Assam.

With the help of fellow passengers and railway employees, Kanwar brought Biswas down from the train at Baleshwar railway station and took him to the district headquarters hospital. After examining him, doctors pronounced Biswas dead. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the medical outpost. Police have informed Biswas’ family members about the incident. Police said the body will be handed over to his family members after the postmortem examination.
