At least five shops gutted in Odisha’s Balasore; valuables worth lakhs destroyed

Balasore: At least five shops were gutted in a fire at Bhograi market in Odisha’s Balasore district, sources said Tuesday.

The incident reportedly took place late at night. The source said valuables worth lakhs were destroyed in the blaze. Preliminary findings suggest the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, the source added.

The shops belonging to Amulya Giri, Chandan Dash, Ajay Jena, Sheikh Sirajuddin and Surendra Jena were destroyed in the fire.
