Australia refuse to play in Pakistan, series shifted to UAE

Australia refused to tour Pakistan by security forces, after which Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will hold all the matches of the upcoming one-day internationals in the United Arab Emirates ( UAE ) between the two countries.

The PCB had invited Australia to play the opening two matches of the five-match series in Pakistan, to ensure that they return to international cricket in the country.

After the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in 2009, international teams have been refusing to play in Pakistan. In the last two years, Pakistan organized two matches of the Pakistan Super League with the finals, against the teams of World XI, Sri Lanka and West Indies in the country.

Australia’s government refused to tour Cricket Australia to Pakistan. Australia has not visited Pakistan since 1998 after security concerns. The five-match series will be played in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai from March 22 to March 31.
