Bargarh: Barpali Railway Station has undergone a major transformation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, one of the flagship initiatives of the Centre, aimed at ensuring modern, inclusive, and future-ready railway infrastructure across the nation. This initiative reflects the Centre’s broader vision of providing world-class public amenities even in semi-urban and rural regions, thereby ensuring balanced regional development.
With a redevelopment cost of `22.28 crore, the upgraded Barpali Station now stands as a model of modern railway architecture featuring improved accessibility, enhanced safety, enriched cultural aesthetics, and upgraded passenger facilities.
Guided by the consistent focus of the Union Minister of Railways on station modernisation and citizen-centric services, Barpali Railway Station now emerges as a key infrastructural asset for western Odisha.
The modernisation of Barpali Station is expected to bring wide-ranging socio-economic benefits, improved connectivity, support daily commuters, students, traders, and farmers across Bargarh district and peripheral regions. Enhanced infrastructure will boost opportunities for local businesses and OSOP (One Station One Product) artisans, helping them access a larger marketplace.
