Padiabahal: Local police conducted a raid, seized 1.5 quintal of beef and arrested two persons at Baghalata village under Goudapali police outpost in Sambalpur district Tuesday night.
Some of the arrested were Ayush Har (40), Payal Balla (50), Pitra Munda (52), Nirala Jugun (34), Maritin Tappo (65), Sujit Rurati and Dilip Soren. Sources said the 12 had killed a cow in the village and were cutting it to distribute the meat.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached the village and made the arrests. The seized beef was sent for examination.
