Berhampur: Armed miscreants ransacked the house of a corporator of Berhampur Municpal Corporation (BeMC) here and molested the women members in his family Saturday after abducting his daughter two days back. The matter came to the fore after the corporator lodged a complaint at Bada Bazaar police station. Bada Bazaar police registered a case and formed a team to nab the absconding miscreants and rescue the abducted girl. Police said that the miscreants abducted the daughter of the corporator, two days back. The corporator during search managed to know about the youth who had abducted his daughter. He confronted the youth’s family and asked them about his daughter’s whereabouts, Saturday.
Later, six to seven youths armed with sharp-edged weapons barged into his house and ransacked it. They even molested his wife and another daughter and then tried to kill the corporator who was inside the house. However, the corporator had a close shave after he managed to flee the house.
