Jagatsinghpur: Four bike-borne Miscreants robbed a beetle nut trader at gunpoint in Jahanapur in this district Friday night.
They looted the day’s earnings and betel nuts from Mahendra Prusty of Rambhadeipur.
According to reports, when Mahendra was returning from Mandasahi market, four miscreants who were travelling on two bikes intercepted him near Jahanpur. They held a pistol on his head and thrashed him. When he tried to raise an alarm, they put the pistol into his mouth and threatened to kill him. Later, they fled the scene after snatching away his money and betel buts.
A severely injured Prusty was lying on the road until he was noticed by some local people who rushed him to the Mandasahi community health center. His condition is stated to be critical.
When asked, Jagatsinghpur IIC Rajanikant Mishra said he was aware of the loot incident but he did not know anything about the complainant, let alone the miscreants.
