Bhadrak reports more local COVID-19 cases than quarantine centre ones

Bhadrak: Bhadrak district Thursday reported 107 COVID-19 positive cases and of them, 104 were local cases. This spike in local contact cases has become a cause of concern for the district administration and local people here.

Dhamnagar block reported maximum 34 cases, followed by Bont and Basudevpur blocks (21 each), Chandbali block and Basudevpur Municipality(eight each), Tihidi block (six), Bhadrak block (five), Bhadrak Municipality (two) and Bhandaripokhari block and Dhamnagar NAC (one each).

The process of shifting the patients to COVID-19 has been started. Similarly, their close contacts and family have been asked to get their swabs tested and remain under home quarantine, it was learnt.

With the addition, the district’s tally has gone up to 1,841. Of them, while 1,029 patients have so far recovered from the disease, 806 patients are still recovering at COVID-19 hospitals. The disease has so far claimed six lives in the district.
