Film stars may have a love-hate relationship with the media, but it seems playing a journalist on the silver screen is the latest trend among actresses. Bhoomika Dash, the newbie of Oriya filmdom, will be seen donning the role of a hard-hitting journalist in her upcoming movie Hero No 1.
Bhoomika will be seen playing the character of scribe Kuhu Patnaik in the movie. For the petite actor, the role gives a chance to get into various social issues and standing up for them.
Asked about her character in the film, Bhoomika said: “The film title sounds romantic but it’s not a purely romantic flick. It is based on several current topics like GST. The storyline is unique. It conveys social messages. I am portraying the character of a reporter who helps the hero to fight for social causes.”
About her chemistry with heartthrob Babusan, Bhoomika who was last seen in Tu Mo Love Story opposite Swaraj Barik said:?“Babu sir, as I call him with respect, is a versatile actor. I came to know many things from him. He helped me improvise each shot. As an actor, he is very supportive and cool. So, I did not find it difficult to share screen space with him. I hope people will like our chemistry in the movie.”
Directed by Tapas Saragharia, Hero No 1 is set to hit the screens this Dussehra. The dialogues have been penned by Ranjit Pattnaik, while Abhijit Majumdar has composed the songs of the movie. The film also features Mihir Das, Puspa Panda and Pradyumna Lenka in key roles.
