Bhubaneswar-Raipur flight finally takes off

Bhunaneswar: The much-awaited flight service on the Bhubaneswar-Raipur route, linking the capitals of Odisha and Chhattisgarh states, was launched Friday by regional airline Air Odisha. The 20-seater airplane was flagged off by Biju Patnaik International Airport director Suresh Chandra Hota.

On the inaugural day, nine passengers were on board as the flight took off from Bhubaneswar to Raipur. The flying time between the two airports is an hour and half.

Scheduled Air Odisha flight 6X 115 leaves Bhubaneswar at 06:10am and reaches Raipur at 07:40am. Similarly, Air Odisha flight 6X 120 will leave Raipur at 12:15pm and reach Bhubaneswar at 01:45pm.

The services will be available six days a week except for Sunday. As the Bhubaneswar-Raipur air link has not been included under the Regional Conectivity Scheme (RCS) of the central government, the fare has been fixed at Rs 4,500 per seat.

Air Odisha would soon make flights available also on Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar-Rourkela routes.
