Cuttack, November 13: Morning Club and Bidanasi Club registered wins albeit in contrasting fashion in matches of the FAO-run first division league at the Barabati Stadium here Friday.
In the first game, Morning Club had a walk in the park without spoiling their sneakers after they were given a walkover by ECoR.
However, the second game was a closely fought affair with Bidanasi Club riding on a brace by Manoj Das to overcome the staunch resistance of Orissa Police 2-1.
It was the Police side who took the lead in the 23rd minute of the game through Satish Ekka. They held on to that lead for the remainder of the session and went into the lemon break with the scoreline reading 1-0.
However, in the second session, the Bidanasi boys came back strongly. Manoj got the equaliser in the 72nd minute and then five minutes before the final whistle he got the winning goal.
Saturday’s games: SAI-STC vs Jay Durga Club (1.00pm); Sunrise Club vs OGP (3.00pm).
