Bhubaneswar: The state government will raise the salaries of doctors working in remotest areas of the state by 100 per cent through a place-based incentive mechanism.
Calculating the vulnerability of places, various parts of the state have been catogorised as V0 to V4 depending on the backwardness of the locality, tribal dominance, left wing extremism, rail and road connection, social infrastructure and distance from state headquarter.
Besides hospitals have also been divided into various levels. Doctors working in level 3 and level 4 hospitals in the remotest areas (V-4) will get 100 percent hike in salary while doctors in the remote and far-off tribal areas will get additional Rs 40,000 on top of their salaries.
Doctors working in level-3 and level-4 hospitals at V-2 areas will be eligible for 50 per cent incentives. Accordingly the incentives have been fixed for other doctors.
A specialist working in a level 3 hospital in V-4 areas will get Rs 80,000 as incentive where as an MBBS doctor working in the same area will get Rs 40,000.
