Mumbai: From a small role in Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh (1999) to the most acclaimed actor now, the versatile Nawazuddin Siddiqui has come a long way. Thanks to his struggling days, he is now playing lead roles in films.
After struggling hard, Nawazuddin has achieved a place where he is counted among the best actors. Nawazuddin turns a year old Wednesday. Let us know some interesting things about the actor who has worked with all three Khans of the industry.
He is the eldest of his eight siblings. His father was a farmer who failed to meet the expenses of the house which forced Nawaz to start work at a young age. Nawaz graduated in science from Gurukul Kangri University. He worked as a watchman after graduating.
Later, he took admission in the National School of Drama. But Nawaz did not have a house to live. So he asked his seniors to allow him to stay with them. Nawaz’s seniors allowed him to stay at their apartment on the condition that he would cook for them. Nawaz agreed and started living with his seniors and graduated in 1996.
Nawaz then joined Sakshi Theater Group. Here he worked with artists like Manoj Bajpayee and Saurabh Shukla. This was not the beginning of success but of struggle. Nawaz moved to Mumbai in his desire to become a hero but was rejected in every audition. Nawaz’s friends who had gone with him to Mumbai returned home exhausted. But Nawaz stood firm. Nawaz’s first debut was Sarfarosh before being cast as a waiter in the film Shool.
He did minor roles in Jungle, Munnabhai MBBS and some short films. Aamir’s 2010 production Peepli Live changed Nawaz’s fortune. After this, Nawaz had a series of films. But Gangs of Wasseypur changed everything for him.
