Boudh: Irate Congress workers hurled eggs at the motorcade of 5T Secretary VK Pandian when he was on his way to review under-construction work of the Alati ghat at Chandrachud temple in Boudh town, in protest against his one-day visit to this district, Wednesday.
The 5T Secretary visited Boudh and Kantamal Assembly segments in this district and attended various programmes and meetings. This is the second day when eggs were hurled at him. A similar incident took place when Pandian visited Sonepur district Tuesday.
The first incident took place when the Secretary was going to attend a meeting at Ambagaon Janata High School in Kantamal block. Holding placards, BJP workers shouted slogans like ‘Pandian Go Back’. They also showed black flags to him.
The Congress workers also showed Pandian black flags at Ambagaon. The 5T Secretary after attending a programme at Kantamal block was on his way to Boudh when Congress workers rushed near the district museum close to the meeting venue and shouted ‘Pandian go back’.
The Congress workers were holding placards and black flags during the protest. Later, police detained the protesting Congress workers at the local police station.
