Dhenkanal: Under mysterious circumstances Thursday, the body of a 3-year-old boy who had gone missing was found floating in a well at Khankira village under Nihalprasad police limits in Dhenkanal.

According to sources, the minor boy had gone missing while playing near his house Wednesday evening. Later, his family members searched for him at various places in the village. The whereabouts of the missing boy could not be known, despite a frantic search.
However, the body of the minor boy was found in an abandoned well in Khankira village early in the morning, the sources added.
On being informed, a team comprising fire-fighting personnel and local police reached the spot and recovered the body. Police have launched a probe in this connection and sent the body for post-mortem.
Exact reason behind the death of the minor boy is yet to be ascertained.
