Jeypore: The BSF is organising a mini marathon, ‘Run for Martyrs,’ December 2 here to honour its men who laid down lives for the country.
Addressing a press conference here DIG A Srinivas said the BSF was organising the event for the first time in Jeypore. He requested people from all walks of life to participate in the mini-marathon to honour soldiers killed in the line of duty.
The event named ‘BSF Mini Marathon-2018’ consists of a 10- km run and 5-km fun-run. It will be flagged off from Vikram Dev College Stadium.
Government employees and students of schools, colleges, professional institutions and local people are expected to take part in the event, he said.
Srinivas said the programme is sponsored by business establishments and volunteers. The DIG said he is expecting around 200 men and women to take part in the mini marathon, and around 500 people to take part in the fun-run.
“Attractive prizes and certificates have been arranged for the winners and all participants,” the DIG said.
