Bhubaneswar: A businessman, identified as Saktimaya Bhuyan, 52, was found hanging in his Gautamnagar office under Badagada police station limits here.
A resident of Gondia in Dhenkanal, Bhuyan was residing at Jharana Sahi in Badagada here. Sources said he was working as a loan recovery agent for some financial institutions including Non-Banking Finance Corporations (NBFCs) and public sector banks.
Bhuyan who had two offices in Gautamnagar allegedly committed suicide at his office that deals with recovery of loans of four-wheelers. Police reached the spot and recovered a suicide note before sending the body for postmortem. He reportedly mentioned in the note that he had taken the extreme step due to heavy debt burden.
