Khurda: A youth was killed by the caretaker in an under- construction building under Baghmari outpost limits here Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Satyabrata Patra alias Tapu (25), of Kantamalim village and the accused was identified as Narendra.
According to sources, Narendra used to work as a caretaker of Satyabrata’s house near Simor chhak. Satyabrata had a problem with Narendra’s drinking habit. However, Tuesday night when Narendra went home drunk, a fight ensued between him and Satyabrata. In a fit of rage, Narendra slit the victim’s neck and fled the spot.
Satyabrata’s father Gopal Patra said, “When I met Narendra on Wednesday, he said he was going to run some errands and fled. On reaching the house, I found the body of my son.”
The police have found a blood-stained dagger on the scene of the crime. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
