Bhubaneswar, May 30: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is going to organise a one-day sensitisation programme on vocational education in Mumbai June 20.
As per the Union Government’s new education policy, all schools and colleges in the country have been asked to introduce vocational courses from the next academic session. The move is aimed at skill development of the students.
All employments in the coming days will be based on qualifications as per the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). “NSQF is going to be a major game-changer. This will enable students in skill and competency development, provide for vertical as well as horizontal mobility besides multiple entries and exists,” the Board wrote to all its principals.
In a move to equip teachers for this important policy change, CBSE in collaboration with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will organise a sensitisation workshop at the NSE office in Mumbai June 20. The teachers trained in the workshop will eventually educate students and parents on the need and importance of skill development as per NSQF.
