Bhubaneswar: Responding to the allegations of Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, ruling BJD attacked BJP alleging that the Centre is the main obstacle to the development of Odisha and prepared a list of 20 questions for Pradhan to answer.
Addressing a press conference here, BJD spokesperson Amar Patnaik said, “Centre is creating obstacles in the path of Odisha’s development and it tries to minimize the state’s growth as it is more than the national average.”
“In the railway sector, the Centre collects nearly Rs 20,000 crore annually while spending only Rs 2,000 crore. Does the rest of the money from Odisha go to other states like Bihar or Madhya Pradesh?” he asked.
On the issue of National Highway Patnaik said that it took four years to lay the foundation stone for a NH project, adding, “All you knew was the situation of NH in the Capital city during rainy season.” “Where are the names of beneficiaries in Ujjwala Yojana website? What happened to second bridge on Brahmani River and promise to upgrade IGH into a super-speciality hospital?” the BJD spokesperson further asked.
He also asked why Central PSUs like MCL have withdrawn its support for implementation of Aahaar scheme. “Will the Union minister give clarification to these questions?” he said.
