Daringbadi: A 4-year-old boy died Tuesday after accidentally swallowing a plastic toy that came inside a packet of snack sticks, police and health officials said.
The child, identified as Bigil Pradhan, son of Ranjit Pradhan of Musumaha Pada near Sikaramaha village under Brahmanigaon police limits.
While playing at their maize field, Bigil found a small plastic toy gun inside the packet.

He accidentally swallowed the toy, which became lodged in his throat, causing him to choke and struggle to breathe.
His parents rushed him in critical condition to the Daringbadi Community Health Centre, about 30 kilometres away, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The CHC in charge, Dr Jakesh Samantaray, the child had severe internal bleeding, and the toy likely entered the airway.
