Koraput: Koraput Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Thursday witnessed a moment of pride as teacher Tarun Kumar Das was felicitated by the school authorities and students after he was chosen to receive the National Teacher Award 2025. Das will receive the prestigious award from President Droupadi Murmu at a special ceremony in New Delhi September 5, Teachers’ Day. His dedication, innovative teaching methods, and relentless efforts in nurturing students have earned him national-level recognition.
The school organised a special felicitation ceremony on the campus Thursday, which was attended by the school principal, staff members, students and parents.
Teachers highlighted Das’ contribution to improving the academic environment and inspiring students to excel not only in academics but also in extracurricular activities. Students expressed their joy through speeches and cultural performances, describing Das as a mentor who goes beyond the classroom to guide and support them. The principal, while addressing the gathering, said that Das’ achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a matter of great pride for Koraput district.

Speaking at the event, Das expressed heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues, students, and the local community, emphasising that the award symbolised collective hard work and dedication. He described the recognition not just as a personal honour but as a shared achievement of the entire institution.
