Bhubaneswar: City police held a raid on a guest house in Nayapalli area here and claim to have busted a sex racket Wednesday . Four customers and three pimps were arrested. Cops “rescued” three women engaged in flesh trade. The owner of the Parbati guest house managed escape.
While one of the girls was Odia, the other two hailed from West Bengal. The men were from Puri and Khorda districts. “The arrested persons will be forwarded to court and the girls will be sent to a short-stay home. Efforts are on to trace the owner of the guesthouse,” police said.
A few days ago, two prostitution rings were busted in the state. A sex racket at Khadinaka village of Kendrapara district was busted and a staff nurse was held for running the racket. In the second case, cops arrested members of a family for running a sex racket in Angul district.
It however is common knowledge that policemen are the main beneficiaries of sex rackets.
