Baripada (Mayurbhanj): In a heartrending incident, a Class VIII girl student was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Rasgovindpur shelter home in Baripada in Mayurbhanj Tuesday morning.
The matter came to the fore after her friends spotted her in an unconscious state and alerted the hostel authorities. On being informed by the shelter home authorities, police reached the spot and recovered the body. The body was then sent to a local hospital for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, police personnel have been deployed outside the shelter home anticipating tension.
Though the exact reason behind the death of the girl is yet to be established, police have launched a probe into the incident, sources said. The exact reason behind the girl’s death will be ascertained after the post-mortem report arrives, sources in the police said.
