M Rampur: Passengers of Hirakhand Express heading for Bhubaneswar from Jagdalpur via Rayagada had a close shave after the train met with an accident near Rayagada station at 10pm Thursday.
The train ground to a halt with a loud screeching sound as an electric wire got entangled with a wheel of the B2AC compartment while the train was just 12km from Rayagada station.
Luckily, no harm was caused. Panicked passengers were seen having a tough time in the train. Half an hour later, electrical engineers from Rayagada reached the spot and rectified the snag, helping the train resume its run, though by four hours late.
Notably, there was a power cut due to thunderstorm, which apparently helped avert a mishap.
