CM dedicates, lays foundation stones for projects in Ganjam

Berhampur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several projects worth over Rs 109 crore during his visit to this district Saturday.

After landing at 11 am at the temporary helipad near Sheragarh-based veterinary office ground in his home constituency, the Chief Minister first paid floral tribute to his father Biju Patnaik at Biju Patnaik Chhak. Then he inaugurated the new ITI, built at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore.

Later, he inaugurated the 100-seat girls’ hostel of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (estimated cost Rs 1.90 crore), Skill Development Centre (estimated cost Rs 1.31 crore), bridge over Nandini Nallah (estimated cost Rs 8.21 crore), new Panchayat Bhawan, Sheragada (estimated cost Rs 25 lakh), street lighting of main road, Sheragarh (estimated cost Rs 15 lakh) and H.L. bridge over Rushikulya river on Jhagadal-Jahada road (estimated cost Rs 11 crore).

The Chief Minister also distributed assets and benefits to the beneficiaries under various developmental schemes of Ama Gaon Ama Bikash. Besides, he received project proposals amounting Rs 25 lakh under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash and accorded instant approval.

“Execute quality work and complete soon. I’m delighted to meet lots of people here. My government’s efforts are for the development of the people,” the CM said.

After winding up his Sheragarh tour, he headed for Hinjilicut. Landing at Hinjilicut’s temporary helipad near Shankar Netralaya, the Chief Minister inaugurated a new building of RMC, laid foundation stones of 2×40 MVA 132/33 KV GIS Grid Sub-Station for Hinjilicut and H.L. Bridge over Ghodahada river on Sompur-Singipur road. He also distributed assets and benefits to the beneficiaries under various developmental schemes. Here also he received project proposals under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash and announced approval of the projects.

Later, he also addressed the public before taking off for Chhatrapur. From Hinjilicut, the Chief Minister flew to Chhatrapur and took a break at the Chhatrapur Circuit House. Later, he inaugurated and visited the new Zilla Parishad Bhawan, the new District Panchayat Resources Centre, new swimming pool, new building of Regional Transport Office (RTO) and new building of Purushottampur Police Station. Besides, he laid the foundation stone of Hygienic Dry Fish Market, Humma.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by his ministerial colleagues Surya Narayan Patro, Usha Devi and Bikram Keshari Arukh, Gopalpur MLA Pradip Kumar Panigrahi, his personal secretary VK Pandian and Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
