Bhubaneswar: The state government will disburse the fifth instalment of financial assistance under the CM-KISAN scheme for the 2026-27 Rabi season Friday, official sources said Thursday. According to the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, more than 49 lakh small and marginal farmers, Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and landless farmer families across the state will benefit from the instalment.
Over `833 crore will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, they said. The government said the financial assistance is aimed at strengthening the economic security of farmers and encouraging them to continue and expand agricultural activities.
The assistance will be released by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at a special state-level programme to be held at Krishi Shiksha Sadan of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar.
Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, along with other dignitaries, will also attend the state-level programme, they added.
