Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Tuesday reviewed plans for a permanent solution to the growing traffic congestion in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, while stressing the need to improve their overall appearance and infrastructure. A high-level review meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhavan to assess the Twin City Traffic Decongestion Plan. The Chief Minister directed officials to take immediate steps to improve road conditions and repair key traffic junctions in both cities. He also emphasised the need for coordinated measures to ease congestion and ensure smoother traffic movement. Majhi emphasised the need to make the connecting roads between the state Capital and the historic city of Kataka, along with their surrounding areas, cleaner, better organised and more aesthetically appealing.

The meeting also discussed the construction and expansion of eight-lane roads to ensure smoother traffic movement. Special focus was placed on providing an alternative eight-lane route for devotees and tourists travelling from Kataka through Bhubaneswar towards Puri, with the aim of ensuring uninterrupted and hassle-free connectivity. The CM also called for the development of major traffic junctions and the construction of flyovers and overbridges at important locations.
